Sanjay Raut: Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar Discuss Political Progress

Sanjay Raut, the Shiv Sena (United Bharatiya Tribal) chief, announced on Wednesday that Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar had a productive discussion the previous day, discussing the current political climate in Maharashtra and across India. He expressed his optimism for the positive outcome of their talks.

On Tuesday evening, Thackrey descended upon Pawar’s abode in the south of Mumbai.

Raut revealed that Congress general secretary, K C Venugopal, has asked for a meeting with Thackeray to represent Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to preserve opposition unity.

Amidst a background of tension between Congress and Shiv Sena, Thackeray and Venugopal are set to come together for a potential meeting. This follows Rahul Gandhi’s comments concerning V D Savarkar, which were not well-received by Thackeray.

While talking to the media about the meeting between Thackrey and Pawar, Raut said, “A long and important meeting took place. Discussions took place on political developments in Maharashtra and the nation, and changing the direction of the future. It was a positive meeting”.

The two prominent figures gathered in a setting of contrast, with Pawar’s opinion clashing with the Congress and other Opposition parties’ wish for a joint parliamentary committee to look into the charges against the Adani Group.

On Tuesday, in an interview with a Marathi news channel, Pawar divulged that Thackeray had made the decision to resign as chief minister without consulting the constituents of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, which consists of the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress.

Raut declared that the Shiv Sena (UBT) was determined to ensure that no one who had ever slighted Bal Thackeray would be able to join the Cabinet of the state. This was in response to the BJP leader and minister Chandrakant Patil’s claim that not a single Shiv Sena member was present at the Babri Masjid when it was demolished.
