This Saturday, the Chennai airport will be graced with the official inauguration of a brand new, state-of-the-art integrated terminal building, courtesy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This impressive infrastructure project has been developed at an impressive cost of ₹ 2,437 crore.

In anticipation of their visitor, the city has ramped up security measures and implemented traffic diversions to ensure that motorists reach their destinations with ease. To ensure a smooth journey, drivers are urged to plan ahead and factor any potential delays into their travel plans.

PM Modi is set to inaugurate the new terminal, the first phase of which is ready to use. This terminal is expected to revolutionize passenger traffic, increasing it to 35 million per year.

In a tweet, PM Modi stated, “This will be an important addition to Chennai’s infrastructure. It will boost connectivity and also benefit the local economy”.

The Tamil Nadu Government has created an impressive new integrated terminal to aid the increasing air traffic in the state. Its impressive 2.20 lakh sq metre size stands as a testament to its commitment to delivering top-notch infrastructure to its passengers. Chennai airport officials are excited to have this new facility available to them.

The terminal is brimming with 108 immigration counters, and there is an evenly split between arrivals and departures, guaranteeing a streamlined and efficient travel experience for all passengers.

“With the annual passenger handling capacity of 35 million passengers, the modern facility at the Chennai Airport will improve air travel experiences for all,” the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating an upgraded railway station in Chennai, along with launching the Vande Bharat Express between the cities of Chennai and Coimbatore.

According to Southern Railways, they have planned to make long-distance travel easier than ever by operating the high-speed Vande Bharat Express train between the two cities on all day bar Wednesday.

PM Modi was all set to join the 125th anniversary of Ramakrishna Mutt at Vivekanandhar Illam on the bustling Kamarajar Salai (Beach Road). He was also to launch a slew of infrastructure projects in Pallavaram.
