Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the past nine years of the BJP-led Union government have been devoted to bettering the lives of citizens through good governance, while condemning the misguidance and deprivation of the poor, under the leadership of the Congress governments previously.
At a public event in Ajmer, the PM declared that India is receiving commendations globally, whereas the Congress governments of the past were taking out 85% of commission from funds appropriated for progress.
“We have given ₹29 lakh crore to the poor through direct benefit transfer. If Congress’s government would have been there, then ₹24 lakh crore would have been looted. The Congress loots every community,” he claimed. “The BJP government has fast-tracked development in the last nine years because we are shutting paths of corruption paved by the Congress.”
During his rally, which marked the beginning of the BJP’s campaign for the assembly elections in Rajasthan slated for the end of this year, the prime minister delivered a slight criticism of the Congress-run state government.
“In 2018, people gave their mandate in Rajasthan. But what did Rajasthan get? Instability and anarchy. Legislators, ministers, and chief ministers have spent the last five years fighting. Congress is not bothered about the people,” Modi said.
The PM also criticized the Congress party for not attending the unveiling of the new Parliament building on Sunday.
“The new Parliament was unveiled three days back but the Congress and some like-minded parties did petty politics over it,” he said. “It was a proud moment for India but the opposition parties sacrificed it for their selfish political motives.”
Congress betrayed ex-servicemen on ‘One Rank One Pension’ for 40yrs; the BJP govt implemented it & gave arrears. Pre-2014 UPA govt saw protests & remote-control rules.
Modi spoke of the numerous accomplishments of his administration, such as bettering healthcare and educational options, constructing residences, providing gas connections, as well as granting piped water to numerous individuals.
Manish Godha, a political analyst, asserted that the BJP sought to demonstrate solidarity by organizing a rally at which former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, state BJP President CP Joshi, leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore, and several others were present.
