Australian PM Compares Narendra Modi to Bruce Springsteen as "The Boss"

At a grand community event in Sydney for the Indian diaspora on Tuesday, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared Narendra Modi as “The Boss”.

Mr Albanese began his speech by pointing out the immense crowd that had gathered, likening PM Modi’s following to that of iconic rockstar, Bruce Springsteen, lovingly referred to as “The Boss” by his fans.

The Australian Prime Minister declared Prime Minister Modi to be “The Boss” as he remarked upon the overwhelmingly positive welcome the Prime Minister received compared to the last person to take the stage, Bruce Springsteen, drawing a grin from the Prime Minister and inciting cheers and applause from the tens of thousands in attendance at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

Yesterday, PM Modi was given a traditional welcome, while both of the Prime Ministers reached the venue of the event.

The evening commenced with an exuberant cultural display by Indian dancers.

Before His Excellency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Albanese addressed the audience regarding the upcoming bilateral meeting that he is to have with the Prime Minister following the said event.

“It will be our sixth meeting that we’ve had together since I was sworn in as Prime Minister one year ago today. It shows how important the relationship between Australia and India is. India will grow to be the third-largest economy in the world. It’s already the most populist country in the world. And it’s an important neighbour in the Indian Ocean that we share. And that is why this is a relationship that we need to invest in,” he said.

Mr Albanese expressed his gratitude towards the Indian diaspora for their invaluable contributions, which have contributed to making Australia a better place, he said, “India is a key strategic partner. We have a rich friendship, we have a very affectionate sporting rivalry, of course, on the cricket fields of the world and we will of course contest the championship once again, later, very shortly, both part of a growing and dynamic region and Prime Minister Modi is a very welcome visitor to our shores.”
